Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Krend Korea (“Krend”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, and protects your information when you use www.krend.kr and our mobile apps (together, the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to this Policy.

We collect only what we need to run the Service:

• Account information. When you create an account we collect your email address and password, or — if you sign in with Google — your Google account email and basic profile information. Authentication is handled by Google Firebase.
• Learning & usage data. The words you collect, tap counts, daily activity, your chosen level and nickname, and your in-app “clam” balance. Some of this is stored on your device and, when you are signed in, synced to our servers so your progress follows you across devices.
• Payment information. If you buy a subscription, payment is processed by our payment provider, which acts as a merchant of record. We receive confirmation of your purchase and subscription status. We do not collect or store your full card number.
• Referral data. A referral code assigned to your account and, if you were referred, the code that referred you.
• Technical data. Our hosting provider automatically logs technical information such as IP address, browser type, and access times, for security and reliability.

• Provide, maintain, and personalize the Service and your learning progress.
• Sync your account across devices.
• Process payments and manage your subscription/entitlements.
• Prevent fraud, abuse, and secure the Service.
• Respond to your support requests.
• Improve the Service and comply with legal obligations.

We use your browser’s local storage to remember your preferences and learning progress, and essential cookies/tokens to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party analytics/tracking.

We rely on trusted providers that process data on our behalf:

• Google Firebase — account sign-in and authentication.
• MongoDB Atlas — database storing your account and progress.
• Our payment provider (a merchant of record) — payment processing and subscriptions.
• Vercel — website and app hosting.
• Cloudflare — delivery of images and audio (no personal data).

Each provider processes data under its own terms and privacy policy. We do not sell your personal information. We disclose it only to these providers, when required by law, or in connection with a business transfer.

Our providers may process your information in countries outside your own, including the United States. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers.

We keep your account data while your account is active and for as long as needed to provide the Service and meet legal obligations. You may ask us to delete your account and associated data at any time.

Depending on where you live (for example, under Korea’s PIPA, the EU/UK GDPR, or California law), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, and to withdraw consent. To exercise any of these, contact us at support@krend.kr. You can also delete your account and data yourself at any time — see Account & Data Deletion.

The Service is not directed to children under 14, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We may update this Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here and revise the “Last updated” date; material changes will be notified where appropriate.
