The two brothers and the stone

옛날에 사이좋은 두 형제가 있었어요.In old times, there were two brothers who got along well.

어느 날, 형과 동생은 길을 가다가 커다란 돌 하나를 발견했어요.One day, the older brother and the younger brother discovered a big stone while going down the road.

형은 다른 사람들이 넘어질까 봐, 그 돌을 치우려고 했어요.The older brother tried to remove the stone because other people might fall.

하지만 동생은 "왜 힘들게 돌을 치워요?"라고 하며 그냥 옆으로 지나쳐 갔어요.But the younger brother just passed by, saying, "Why bother removing the stone?"

형은 혼자서 땀을 흘려가며 마침내 돌을 길가로 옮겨 놓았어요.The older brother, alone and shedding sweat, at last moved the stone to the roadside.

형은 마을 사람들을 많이 도와서, 모두에게 존경받는 부자가 되어 있었어요.The older brother had helped the village people a lot and had become a rich person respected by everyone.

반면에 동생은 쉬운 길만 찾아서, 가난하고 외롭게 살고 있었어요.On the other hand, the younger brother was living poor and lonely because he only looked for the easy way.
